Frequently asked Questions

Primary care is a specialty of healthcare based on an ongoing relationship between a patient and a doctor. It covers disease prevention and management of urgent and chronic medical problems covering 90% of a persons medical needs.

Direct Primary Care is a subscription service for your doctor, i.e., you pay a monthly fee. You are not charged extra per interaction with your doctor. This allows more open communication between you and your doctor. So you, the patient, are incentivized to focus on your health care, not just your sick care.

Your doctor has a smaller panel of patients compared to doctors who bill insurance. This allows your doctor the freedom to offer extended in-person appointments, sometimes up to an hour, and flexible telehealth options.

This type of care is more personal, convenient, and accessible.

The goal of direct primary care is to simplify your healthcare. You pay your doctor directly which then allows you to have direct access to your doctor.

This eliminates any concerns you have about the cost of a visit or if there are hidden fees.

You can still use your insurance for the other parts of medical care.

As a member you will have 24/7 access to your clinical team. You can call, text, even video-call your provider with your medical and health questions. The focus is on the patient-provider relationship. While all medical emergencies are directed to the emergency room, most urgent care issues can be handled right at the office as well.

If it's a true emergency, call 911, or go to the emergency room. If it's something urgent but not life threatening, call us first. We may be able to see you right away, and save you a trip.

No, DPC is not insurance. The monthly service fee is your payment for ongoing primary care services offered by your physician. It is very important to carry some type of insurance for life’s unforeseen medical emergencies. High Deductible plans (also known as catastrophic coverage) or Health Share plans make an excellent accompaniment to Direct Primary Care that are acceptable options to meet the individual mandate for health cost coverage in the Affordable Care Act.

No, we do not accept or bill health insurance. In the Direct Primary Care model, we contract directly with the patient, not an insurance company. By eliminating the restrictions and frustrations associated with health insurance, we keep costs low and spend as much time as needed with our patients. Insurance can be helpful in catastrophic situations, and we recommend that you do have insurance for emergencies

Yes, however, BitCure is not responsible for payments not covered by your insurance company. We have negotiated cash-pay discount rates with local lab and imaging centers which we pass on the members without any margin, so that paying directly for these services without using insurance is very affordable.

We can accept HSA and FSA funds as a form of payment, however, it is the responsibility of the member to ensure eligibility of use in accordance with IRS guidelines. You may want to check with your human resources department or tax consultant regarding the use of HSA and/or FSA funds as possible payment options for your membership.
